Target the magnetic fraction
Magnetic separation and eddy current separation perform different sorting duties. Identify the magnetic material to recover or remove and the remaining stream to retain. The separator should be assessed against the prepared material reaching it, rather than only the original scrap object.
Describe presentation and attachments
Provide particle dimensions, material shape and the degree to which components are liberated. Show the feed conveyor or transfer arrangement where it already exists. Ask which separator configuration and installation position address the actual stream and collection requirement.
Plan both collected streams
Identify where the magnetic fraction and remaining material go after separation. Confirm conveying, support, controls and cleaning arrangements in the supplied scope. If nonferrous recovery or further classification is required, define that as a separate stage with its own duty.
Specifications & configurations.
Tell us about your material and required configuration to discuss the relevant specifications.
Before you decide
Does magnetic separation replace nonferrous sorting?
It targets magnetic response. Conductive nonferrous recovery and alloy identification are separate requirements that need their own process discussion.
Which separator configuration should be selected?
Provide the feed condition, transfer arrangement and required fractions. The equipment form and installation should be confirmed around that information.
