Understand the application.
Reject heat from the connected water circuit
The tower provides air-and-water heat dissipation for industrial circulating water. Identify the equipment whose heat must be removed and the circuit serving it. A cooling tower is a supporting utility component: its task should be defined separately from the melting, heating or rolling operation carried out by the connected machine.
Check the open-circuit arrangement against the site
Discuss the water available, the required cooling conditions and the connected equipment limits. The open circulating-water design should be compared with a closed-loop alternative in the context of that circuit. Neither design should be selected solely because its description mentions the same type of furnace or factory.
Plan circulation and installation responsibilities
Provide existing pump, tank and pipework information and identify which components need to be supplied. Confirm water connection points, controls and the proposed heat-rejection duty for the selected arrangement. The layout discussion should include airflow, water routing and service access, together with the boundary between the cooling package and the rest of the installation.

Before you decide
Does the cooling tower package include the circulation pump and tank?
Confirm each component in the quotation. Identify whether the pump, tank, controls and connecting pipework are supplied with the tower, already on site or provided separately.
What determines the choice between open and closed cooling?
Compare the connected circuit, required cooling conditions, site water and proposed circulation arrangement. Confirm the relevant interfaces rather than selecting by a tower name alone.
