Understand the application.
Cooling equipment for a defined water circuit
The tower removes heat from a circulating-water system serving connected industrial machinery. It can be discussed alongside a furnace or other process equipment requiring cooling, but it does not perform melting, heating or casting. Identify which water circuit it will serve and the equipment connected to that circuit.
Keep the closed-loop requirement explicit
A closed circulating-water arrangement should be considered against the connected equipment requirements and the water available at the site. Ask which circuit remains enclosed, how heat rejection is arranged and what water conditions are required. An open cooling tower is a comparison option, not an automatically interchangeable substitute for the same duty.
Coordinate circulation, controls and installation
Provide the connected heat load and required water conditions, together with existing pumps, tanks, pipework and controls where present. Confirm the selected tower configuration, supplied components and connection points. Space for airflow, service access and routing should be discussed in the site layout, rather than assuming that the tower footprint alone defines the installation.

Before you decide
Can a closed tower replace an open tower without other changes?
Confirm the water circuit, cooling duty and connected equipment requirements first. The circulation arrangement and site connections need to be reviewed before treating the designs as substitutes.
What should be specified with the tower?
Identify the heat load, required water conditions, circulation equipment and connection points. Separate supplied pumps and controls from the pipework and equipment already at the site.
