Define the surface task
Shot blasting concerns treatment of a workpiece surface. It should be selected around the surface condition and required preparation, not confused with crushing the whole component. Provide photographs showing the part and the areas to be treated, together with the material and geometry.
Choose the workpiece presentation
Different part shapes and sizes require a suitable support and movement arrangement. Describe how items are loaded, exposed and collected and whether they are handled separately or in batches. The proposed equipment should explain its workpiece limits and the treatment coverage to be assessed.
Coordinate associated equipment
Confirm the handling, controls and material-collection systems supplied with the arrangement and the site connections required. Discuss the acceptance condition for the prepared surface with the responsible process specialist. A machine title does not define a universal finishing result or compatibility with every casting.

Before you decide
Does shot blasting reduce scrap into saleable fragments?
Its task is surface preparation of a workpiece. Crushing and shredding address different size-reduction duties.
What determines the handling arrangement?
Part dimensions, geometry, material and the surfaces requiring treatment help define support, movement and collection.
