Start from the casting requirement
A lost-foam project is selected around the component to be cast and the pattern-based process needed to produce it. It is different from continuously casting metal into ingots or billets. Provide the casting drawings, material and production requirements before discussing a line layout.
Identify the foundry stages
The project may involve pattern preparation, molding, handling and a pouring arrangement. Confirm the job of every proposed module and the boundaries between supplied equipment and existing foundry operations. A line title does not identify which pattern, mold or supporting systems are included.
Connect metal supply and casting handling
Explain how molten metal reaches the pouring stage and how castings and molding materials are handled afterward. Discuss the required support systems and layout as part of the project. Configuration follows the intended casting and process conditions; no casting quality or production rate is assumed from the type name.
Specifications & configurations.
Tell us about your material and required configuration to discuss the relevant specifications.
Before you decide
Is this the same line as continuous ingot casting?
No. Lost-foam production concerns a pattern-based foundry route for specified cast components, rather than a continuous ingot product.
Does the line title prove every foundry module is included?
No. Identify the pattern, molding, pouring and handling duties and confirm their equipment scopes individually.
