Identify what arrives at the crusher
A load described as electric motor scrap may contain complete motors, removed stators, loose rotors or a mixture of assemblies. These are different feed descriptions. Before comparing equipment, photograph the material as it arrives and after any preparation already performed at your yard. Include a scale reference and the largest regular pieces, rather than showing only a convenient sample.
Record the motor types and whether the windings are copper, aluminum or mixed. Describe attached housings, shafts, fasteners and other components separately. If the composition is unknown, say so. A copper recovery target based on an assumed winding composition can give a misleading picture of the project before a machine is selected.
Distinguish liberation from final sorting
The VSC1250 Electric Motor Rotor Stator Crusher Machine is described in our equipment range as an impact machine for freeing copper and aluminum windings from iron core laminations. That is a liberation task: opening up the assembly so its materials can be separated. It should be discussed alongside the sorting stages required for the finished metal fractions.
A crusher discharge should not automatically be treated as a saleable copper product. Ask to see the material immediately after crushing and after each subsequent separation stage. This identifies where liberation is incomplete, where different metals remain mixed and which equipment is doing the work represented by the final sample.
| Stage | Question to resolve |
|---|---|
| Feed preparation | Which assemblies can enter, and which require prior dismantling or size reduction? |
| Liberation | Are windings sufficiently released from the iron laminations? |
| Separation | Which modules produce the iron and nonferrous fractions? |
| Output checking | What remains mixed, and how will each fraction be assessed? |
Map every output, including material that needs another pass
Begin with the products your downstream buyers accept. A buyer seeking a copper-rich fraction has a different specification from a buyer purchasing mixed nonferrous material. Describe the acceptable iron carryover, material form and any further processing expected after delivery. Where these limits are not yet known, obtain the receiving specification before defining the line.
The VSC1250 product information describes a process involving screening, magnetic separation and eddy current separation. Treat this as a process discussion, then ask which modules are included in your quotation. Confirm collection points for copper, aluminum, iron, fines and material requiring reprocessing. Naming several machines does not establish the quality of all their outputs.
Use a representative material trial
A useful trial follows the same identifiable feed through the proposed process. Separate unusually easy and difficult assemblies in the trial record so that a favorable sample does not conceal the regular feed mix. Ask which preparation was performed before filming and whether any sorting occurred between the visible stages.
Agree in advance what will be weighed, sampled and recorded. Recovery and purity describe different results: a clean fraction can still leave valuable metal elsewhere. The trial should therefore examine both the desired product and the other streams. Any throughput observation should stay attached to the feed, preparation and equipment configuration used.
Compare the quoted process boundary
For a replacement machine, show how the new crusher will connect to your existing conveyors and separators. For a new process, request a module list and layout that identify transfers, collection positions and responsibility for the interfaces. This helps reveal whether two offers cover the same work.
- List the incoming assembly types, dimensions and known winding materials.
- Identify preparation already available at your facility.
- State the separate products your buyers require.
- Mark screening and separation equipment as included, existing or excluded.
- Agree a trial record that covers every collected fraction.
Prepare a motor scrap discussion with MIRACLE
Send representative feed photographs, the expected material mix and the desired copper, aluminum and iron products. Include any existing separation equipment and a sketch of the available process area. Refer to the VSC1250 when discussing liberation, then confirm the complete route needed for your particular scrap. The aim is a defined material path from incoming assemblies to checked outputs, with each module and exclusion visible.
Before you decide
Does a rotor and stator crusher also complete all metal sorting?
Do not assume this from the crusher name. Discuss liberation separately from screening and metal separation, and confirm the modules included in the proposed system.
Can I base the project on the copper percentage in one motor sample?
Use a representative feed mix. Record differences between motor types and winding materials, and assess the other output fractions as well as the copper-rich product.
