Understand the application.
Input materials
Specify the stainless steel charge and receiving task
The furnace serves stainless steel melting and remelting before another operation, such as casting. Identify the intended grade and the form of the incoming material, including whether it is identified scrap, prepared charge or an alloy batch. A general stainless steel label is less useful than the actual material requirement.
Keep composition and melting duty distinct
State the composition requirement of the product and how the charge will be identified and assessed. Melting a batch does not itself establish a particular alloy grade or casting result. Discuss the selected furnace configuration against the metal, charge condition and production pattern rather than extending a family description to every stainless material.
Coordinate discharge with the foundry layout
Explain how molten metal will leave the furnace and which vessel or casting equipment receives it. Review the proposed body, power supply, cooling and controls alongside access and material handling. When comparing this furnace with a general steel melting arrangement, retain the stainless charge and grade requirements rather than treating an equal batch mass as proof of interchangeability.

Before you decide
Does melting alone confirm the final stainless steel grade?
No. The charge composition and the required product grade need their own assessment. Furnace selection should be made alongside those material and receiving-process requirements.
Can a steel furnace be substituted solely on batch mass?
Confirm the actual charge, required configuration and supporting equipment. A similar batch amount does not establish that two furnace arrangements suit the same stainless melting task.
